The Being Positive Project

I'm really going to try to be more positive. I've been awful lately, and of course I can come up with a lot of excuses, but....................... it's not good. I feel horrible. So I'm back on this blog, and I'm going to focus on finding beautiful things every day. Things I'm grateful for, things that make me smile, that make me think - whatever. And today's is this picture of Lewis with his "Yoshi", his "Stride to Ride" dinosaur that he LOVES SO MUCH. "I'm walking with my friendly dinosaur, oh what fun just listen to him roar!....................... Roar, Roar, Roar."
Another happy thing: I went to "A Prairie Home Companion" last night here in Bemidji. I was surprised by just how much I enjoyed it. We got there later than I'd wanted but it ended up being perfect: We were up on the walkway above the bleachers, looking for somewhere to sit, when Garrison Keillor came walking up the steps right toward us! So I was close enough to touch him (I didn't), and it was awesome. I was so starstruck, and I even got teary-eyed at points because I can't imagine life without him and his show, or without public broadcasting in general (a topic for another time). Our television is upstairs, and we really don't watch much of it because the area is nowhere near baby proofed. Instead, we listen to MPR in the evenings and often catch Garrison Keillor and "Prairie Home" or "Writer's Almanac". It's such a comforting thing for me, especially GK's voice. I feel very fortunate to have seen a live performance of his show.
I already feel a bit better after writing this entry. I'll return soon. Good luck to all of you with February. And Happy Valentine's Day :)

I'm listening to the show right now! Garrison was such a major part of my growing up too, I can't imagine life without his voice. Happy V-day to you and yours.

I kept a daily journal of a thankfulness thought for awhile and it helped me get a better perspective on life
. Previously I would only keep a journal when I was upset . That can get unhealthy .

Love Garrison Keillor. Anytime I hear him on the radio, it reminds me of my drives to Bemidji or International Falls.

I hope you've had some better days, lately. We've had beautiful sun the past two weeks and it's amazing what it's done for my mood, my attitude and, most importantly, my soul.
