Anyway. It was charming. It felt revitalizing to have a new experience, to do something we normally just talk about as "probably pretty cool - we should do that." We've just been so tired! But this was fantastic, getting carted on a wooden trailer behind a 4-wheeler and dropped off in front of a whole row of neck-high, prickly green bushes just covered with giant berries, some dark, purplish red and others nearly orange, still so young.
So ~~~ it was cool, the raspberry picking. I want to do it again in the next week now that I know what to expect. We weren't too equipped for Lewis - forgot his diaper bag in the car and didn't bring the stroller - but he still did well. He is very interested in everything, and alert. He has these equal sides of his personality: quiet, wide-eyed, somber, thinking, taking everything in, --- just deep in the moment. Then, he's smiling with his whole body, crinkling up his nose, absolutely shining in his eyes and twisting his arms, scrunching his shoulders with delight. Open-mouthed kisses back at us, open mouth smile, open mouth when he laughs... . This is truly a fun age, four months.
The pictures are of us on the farm, and then the last one is a picture I found of Adam's -. He's planning to blog about the Jack London book he just finished, one he really loved, and so he took a picture of Lewis holding it. Adam used to have Monty hold the books that were up for review! Poor Monty. Monty still gets the whole couch, though, so ---- it's not all bad for him.
Going to head upstairs and watch tv for awhile as long as Lewis is in bed. I should be sleeping every precious second I get, but ---- wow. Of course I need some time to just be me, not either constantly around a baby (he doesn't nap) or asleep.
Grandma Connie is coming to visit tomorrow! I think that also means there's a date in my future :)
