Emerging

Ok. I just need to write. Once it's reached a certain point - my absence from the blog - I feel like I've got to write something great. And so the absence grows longer due to the pressure. Whatever. I've got to get at least one more entry in before my baby comes, and the dr. said I'm ahead of schedule......... I FEEL ahead of schedule, but I'm still hoping to hang on three more weeks. The fantastic news is that I've just about reached the 37-week safe zone....my baby will be full-term if born now. The hospital bag is packed, the baby room is ready.....I just need to get stuff done at school and ready my mind a bit more. But all is well. I have to get up to go to the bathroom probably....I don't know. It would be a fun game to keep a tally. Probably six or seven times during the night. I'll check tonight, and then hey --- there's a ready-made blog entry for tomorrow. How Many Times I Got Up To Pee Last Night.

I've been so lucky to have my mom visit twice in the past two weeks. She brought some baby stuff and then helped with the house chores I've neglected --- dishes, laundry, bathroom cleaning, and cooking meals. One of the mornings she left, she prepared a meal in the crockpot that was smelling delicious when I got home. I asked Adam that night if he wishes he'd married my mom.....now it's a joke. Tonight, as we were having something else she'd made and then frozen and after I reminded him that I DID make a quiche yesterday, he said, "I'm still going to marry your mom." Hey - that's cool. Then I'd have her around more. :)

Adam's mom visited a week or so ago as well and helped so much - gave advice on what worked for her and what didn't and helped me shop for some things we need. It's all so overwhelming right now. I mean, I used to babysit, but............. a long time ago. I've just not really been around babies for the past decade. Anyway --- it was great to see Connie, and I was reminded of how lucky I am to have these two women in my life...not to mention countless other family members and friends.

These are my favorite pictures lately, in random order because either the blog is broken :) or I've forgotten how to maneuver pictures on the page. One of my mom and me (and of course Monty.....what a surprise he's in for, about to be demoted), one of Connie and me, our freshly painted kitchen (Adam's been amazing with what he's done to prepare for and welcome our baby) and ...... me outside in just a sweater!!! It was actually warm enough for this yesterday, though I do press the envelope just a bit each year. Not just because I'm pregnant have I failed to write lately but because I'm SICK OF WINTER. I know I'm not alone here. I haven't been depressed - hard to be depressed when I'm looking so forward to meeting my baby - but......overwhelmed and stagnant. I hate not being able to take walks outside, I hate heavy winter jackets, the lack of sunlight, the cold...Ugh. So this weekend, when the sun was out and the temp wasn't "flirting with freezing" (I stole this from the brilliant Mary Quite Contrary....I love the phrase!), I felt more alive. And so I decided I'd better take advantage of the spark and post a blog entry.
Ha. I think I've more than made up for my absence. Shorter ones to come. I still need to post a pic of the baby's room!

Hope everyone has a good week - -- - .

12. That was my record of how many times I got up to pee in one night with one of my pregnancies. :)

You look beautiful and the anticipation of a new baby is exciting! I agree with what you wrote about winter. I feel the SAME way, and it's getting worse each year. But the excitement of baby makes it go faster, I imagine!

So many things to do. Conventional wisdom says all the stuff you want to get done = nesting...won't be long.

Love you, Laura. I'll be thinking of you in the coming weeks!

Yay! Welcome back, and welcome to the last few weeks of pregnancy. We have an appointment tomorrow, so we'll see if anything's going on yet. I hope not! I still have lots to do at home, and we're in the last week of production on our musical at school. I feel great--so much better than last time around--and I am excited to meet baby girl. Of course, with a scheduled c-section, we've got everything planned out... Evan's birthday party, parents arriving, who will watch E, etc. If baby is a good little girl, she'll stay put until the doctor goes in to get her!

Good luck to you guys! I can't wait to hear your good news and see pictures. :) (The baby room looks great, by the way!)

Hugs,
Melissa
