July Already?

The title of this post is pretty much unrelated to the pics and writing, unless I stop to consider how much Adam and I have done in the last month. I'll admit: usually we are much better at talking about doing things than we are at actually doing them, but so far this summer we've done what we've said we'd do:
**We built a [simple] fire pit.

**We've done our best at keeping Monty away from the firewood (though he tries hard and sometimes he gets some and then steps on it so we can't get it) - see next picture.

** I had a wonderful "Three Generation" vacation in Florida.
** I have firmly committed to never actually LIVING in Florida due to extreme sun rash/allergy conditions.

** We built raised gardens ---- today!!

----- I am completely exhausted after getting these done. What a satisfying fatigue, though ---- . It doesn't look like a lot of dirt (it didn't to me, anyway), but it took forever and was so tiring. My back aches so badly. And because my back aches, and I have cramps, and because now my arm rash is developing itchy bumps, I'm about to take a hot bath even though it's pretty hot outside. But the contentment I feel really can't compare to much --- I am just so, so grateful to be in the middle of my summer.
"I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content." -St Paul

So impressive! You've done so much. I am such a garden bum. I am ashamed! LOL. Really though, you are doing amazing Laura. I love seeing everything you're working on and the company you keep.

Hey Laura -

Are you doing square foot gardening or something like it? I love the raised beds.

Hope you had fun in FL. I love the picture of you with your mom and grandma!

Happy 4th of July!
