OK. So here's the house, almost done! I'm so happy with how it's turning out - the difference is incredible! I have two questions, though, and I'd really appreciate your honest reaction/opinion if you have time.
1) Am I just being really paranoid and too over-protective to be BEGGING Adam not to try to paint (and measure for trim, and nail in trim) these dormers? We don't have scaffolding, so he's talking about either nailing two-by-fours to keep from sliding OR--- HARNESSING himself to something through the windows. ?!
2) What about the green? Honestly, the effect is not what I thought it would be. Maybe I just need to get used to the color, but .... I don't know. Christmas-y? Easter-ish? The white really looks beautiful now that's it's freshened up (the bottom walls aren't painted fresh white yet because I was planning on them being green...). --- I won't be offended. Honest opinion, please! I stopped a quarter of the way through because I want to be sure.
Thanks for any advice you can give me!

Yikes. I kind of hate to be the first commenter on this, but....
1) I'm not saying I wouldn't feel scared, too, if Eric were planning to do what Adam is talking about with the dormers...but if he's careful about taking precautions, it shouldn't be horribly dangerous. Of course, in my family men have always done work on the roof themselves, and I used to crawl out one of the windows on the second story of my grandparents house so I could walk around on the roof. I might be a little desensitized to the danger of heights.
2) Honestly? I really love that shade of green. But when I read your last post, I was a little concerned about the green-red combo. And it does look a little Christmas-y in the picture. Sorry. I know you've been working hard.
Good luck with the rest of this project.
the green is nice :)
i think that maybe the red will weather somewhat, settle down and blend in more?
Thank you guys for sharing your thoughts!
Hi.. I love the green, but I love all colors green. It looks beautiful with the white though... and it will be perfect with the red with the right accesories! We will have a purpose to go to the shops in town.
I love green too, colour is very subjective. I love the terra cotta! Plus the green is on the INSIDE, I don't think you have anything to worry about.
i am also a big fan of the green and think the shades work really well together but i am a big fan of green, we're painting our trim almost that exact shade ...
i think it would be fine so long as he is careful but i would be paranoid too :)
your house looks fantastic!!
