More!

I think it's beautiful now, but it was really frightening to drive through the snow this morning - especially when I knew our school district would probably send us home early to drive through it again (they did). When almost every one of the district's teachers lives at least 30 miles from Red Lake, I think school should be called on days like today. Sometimes it is, but---sometimes it's not. I know it must be an incredibly tough call, and I'd hate to be the one to have to make it, but I just don't think it's worth the risk of the staff's and students' lives.

Anyway, we're home now and I'm very thankful we made it safely. It was reassuring to drive back in a caravan, a very safe one moving at an average of 35 mph! (made easier with these spiffy new tires :)

Glad you made it home safely! We didn't get much snow down here today--we were on the fringes of the storm. Aren't snow days/early outs a wonderful gift?? Hopefully we have a good, old-fashioned Minnesota winter and can enjoy this "perk" more often (without having to make up days in June!)
