Pay it Forward

I just checked Tanaya's blog and got the most beautiful idea. So..., here is the deal: the first three people to post a comment on my blog will receive a surprise from me. :)

I will offer you something to comment on...! Ok. Tonight is "Thanksgiving Eve" and I am enjoying a glass of pinkish, cheap wine and learning about my friends' lives. I am looking forward to seeing my mom, dad, and brother tomorrow, and I am excited to meet the new family cat, Lucy. I am grateful for a good day with students, a day when I receieved an apology note from one of them which included the lines, "I will not disrespect you or any other teacher in the building" and "P.S.- Work on the heat in yo' classroom." I went next door to deliver a pumpkin pie (what other kind on Thanksgiving Eve?) to the guy who takes Monty outside every day and gives him some attention. I have two incredible movies ready for me, Everyday People and Passion Fish. And, I have realized lately that I can be pretty self-indulgent and that I need to focus more on others and less on myself and my concerns. SO------Yay for the Pay it Forward Project, Tanaya!

The "strings attached" part of the deal, by the way: The first three who comment on my blog must "pay it forward" to someone else, somehow.

This is one of the reasons I really love blogging :)

Hi Laura -

I hope you have a great Thanksgiving.

Don't you love students sometimes - they allow us to stay young and grounded (i.e. Sorry for disrespecting you - oh and work on "yo heat!") Funny.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving - that's so nice of you to treat your Monty Watcher! A pie is a perfect treat, and of course on Thanksgiving Eve, what better than Pumpkin.

We're actually home already, came back last night, so we won't get to see you guys. :( I miss our coffees, though.
