I Love Local Businesses

...and so I thought it was about time I support this cute little store near our house. Adam and I walked here in misty rain and bought two pops and a beef stick. With five dollars in my pocket, that was all we could do, but it's a start! I do need to remember that if I don't want these places to close, I need to help them out and stay AWAY from Walmart! (and Target, and K-Mart, and all the corporate stores, I suppose, which is easier said than done. But, I can try.)

Oh, I miss that place. I was actually just thinking about it too, because I'm making bacon from a package and it just isn't as good as real meat market bacon. And now if I ever want meat market bacon, I have to walk several blocks farther to get to it than I did when we lived (almost literally!) across the street from that little store.

Chris and I have a little local grocery store a couple blocks from us that we like to go to. It doesn't have much, so it's only useful for picking up some milk, a frozen pizza, and the best hot sauce I've ever had. It's got such personality and really supports the ethnic community with varieties of food other than just "american".

One day we noticed that up at the register area they have a case full of bowls and bongs and whatnot. Maybe a little trashy? Oh well.

Btw...I love all of the quotes that you find. They never cease to inspire me.
