I don't know how I'd do this with kids.

Adam and I are getting ready to be away for two weeks, and I'm about to lose my mind. Just getting everything ready for Monty is job enough.

Here's where we're at with the house:

I've been working on patching holes and cracks in the "good" walls, and Adam's been putting up insulation. He still needs to knock out a small piece of another wall before we go... . While we're gone, sheetrock is going up and the hardwood floor will be sanded. If all goes well, we can start priming and painting when we return.
We're leaving in a few hours for my parents' house, where we're having a mini-family reunion (not really, but a few of my relatives are there for a fishing weekend). Monty is staying with Mom and Dad for these two weeks, so---yeah. He's riding with us in our little red car for two and a half hours. Once we get there, though, it will be ok. I'm so grateful for my parents for taking him --- He'll have a ton more attention and exercise, and we'll save $300. Perfect arrangement.
I'll try to update from the cities next week and then from Florida the next. No pictures during that time, but I'll have plenty when we get back!

Laura - the living room is going to be beautiful when you are done. It looks like you have gorgeous trim work...I love that about old houses. I CAN NOT wait to see the afters - I know it will be awesome - I see the potential :) And based on how your bedroom turned out, I can just imagine! :) Have fun on vacation!

XOXO
