I am in the last few days before my school year starts, and I am guarding this time jealously. It's not that there aren't a lot of things going on, but I'm keeping my mind as clear as possible. I think that's why I come to blog and am not sure what to write. I have a ton I could say, but I feel tired. Once the year starts, my brain will be working overtime and then I'll have plenty of words...! This will serve again as my escape. But for now, it's like I'm in hibernation or something---storing up my resources for the long months ahead.
(I do like teaching. :) It's just a very taxing profession. )

I cleaned the bathroom tonight. Because Adam and I are doing NO remodeling for a good long while (after this living room is done...almost!), I have decided to work with what we have in the other rooms. So, I covered the ugly bathroom floor (that looks dirty even when it's clean) with rugs, hung a brightly colored Kandinsky poster on the white wall and filled spaces with plants. It looks much better.

I also painted this shelf and plan to put it under the window in the kitchen. Then I'll put plants on it. I've had plants for years, but lately I've wanted as many as possible. I want them everywhere! It's good for the air quality, for one thing, but I think they're so beautiful. They make me happy. So does yellow, so the combination should be perfect.

Goodnight, all.

Good for you! I think it's wonderful that you decided to "make pretty" what you have and put off more remodeling. You've had your share, and with the school year starting, you'll probably crave for things that are Put Together. I love the yellow shelf! The bathroom also looks cheery:)

i love yellow which is why most of my walls sport the colour ~ its bright and fresh and hides the flaws in the house that will take much time and money to remedy :) its all part of the joy!!
