This first one is of my awesome brother and my adorable grandma, who looks much hotter in a pantsuit than I do. (She's 82.)

The next two are from Christmas - My mom and dad in the kitchen, I think preparing food for Christmas morning. Christmas breakfast is one of my favorite events---- And Adam and me, doing what we do best: being goofy.

*I forgot to check in yesterday for Finding Water, so here's a quick one: I did my morning pages every day except Friday (it was so hard to get back into the routine of work), I didn't really take a good walk, and I had my artist's date yesterday. The date was wonderful. I went to Brigid's Cross, an authentic Irish pub with dark wood tables and the best Irish music, and sat with my notebook and a magazine from Book World across the street. I actually wrote a poem, too, which I'm hoping to work on later today if time allows. I always go to coffee shops by myself but hardly ever restaurants---It was a nice experience. There were only a few of us in there, and one patron was a professor I had in college. It's the perfect writing/reading/alone time atmosphere.
I mentioned my family's cabin in my last post, and in the pictures Mom sent was one of me there in December. I like the picture because I know I was so happy and peaceful, sitting with nothing but time and quiet. I'm reminded of Jessie's picture at the garden shop---It is nice sometimes to have photographs as proof that we can find quietude (I think this is my favorite word) in our busy lives.

What great pictures, Laura. You have a lovely family. The pictures really tell a beautiful story; I can see why you'd save them from the fire...
Great pictures and lovely thoughts about the cabin. We have a cottage - and barely every go there - we are trying hard to get it in some semblance of retreat space (this takes a while).
That's your Grandma and she's 82?! May I look as good this year!
Those photos of you and Adam look so happy and peaceful . . . and beautiful. :)
P.S. I like the new yellow on your blog!
Quietude, great word Laura! I like it.
Great photos, so nice to see you and your family having fun together.
I love the cabin. It's my dream to live in a cabin one day just like that. You do look peaceful and happy.
