Inspired by Sacred Suzie's self-portrait project, I found a picture of myself I love. My husband took it on our honeymoon, in Florida, with a PopCam. The PopCam is fun. I am happy I am reminded of it today, because I haven't used it in a couple of years. A cheap piece of crap, yes, but I think it holds potential for some great art!

This picture also captures how I feel at precisely this moment, having just returned from a long lakeside walk with my dog. The Christmas lights are still up, and we walked along an old child-size train track lined with blue and orange and white and green. It was magical. It is an incredible thing to find magic right where one is...and sometimes a difficult thing. --- As Monty and I walked back, we passed the big window of the place Adam was working out and tried to get his attention...until we got everyone ELSE'S attention instead and had to keep going. But now we're all home, warm and waiting for our eggs to finish boiling, relaxing from a day full of hard work. I feel a good kind of tired right now, and I like that. It helps me forget some of the things that went wrong in my classroom today and focus instead on resting my body and my mind, on trying again tomorrow.

This weekend might work although I will have play practice after 6pm. Friday won't work, but Saturday or Sunday would as long as we met before 6. Which day works best for you?

Awww...what a great photo montage of you! You look so happy and free, I love it Laura. I'm glad that you also found time today to go for a deep restorative and contemplative walk, it makes all the difference doesn't it? Good for you!

I love it! And I loved reading about your walk with Monty. When you describe the things of home I feel a little tug...like, ooh...i know that place! Except what you've given me is a new way of seeing it.

And those photos make me smile. You look so happy. :)
