It is winter here now. Because it's so cold and snowy and windy today, I had to go out and buy something for my hands (because every year I lose one of a pair, a couple of times. Or Monty tears one apart). These are "Mittens with a Mission", made by people at the Winona Occupational Rehab. Center. I'm glad to be able to support them.

This lamp is for the couch in front of the living room windows....I'd been wanting one, and then I found this. Perfect. I am never, ever disappointed when I go to Grandma's Attic.

It's opening of deer hunting (rifles --- bow season has been going on for awhile). I was going to go home, but my exhaustion plus bad weather held me back. I am anxiously awaiting news of any deer my family comes back with. I miss being home for this, a holiday second only to Christmas, maybe. I have such good memories of being there to share in the excitement, and the stories. It's catching, the anticipation and even, sometimes, the adrenaline.

What else? Obama. Yes. I'm still not over the victory. I have enjoyed my job especially during this time, when my kids have shown excitement about this election. It's been a common experience for us, which is very rare. We're all proud, and happy, and the colors of our skin don't seem to matter this time. Refreshing. Lots of boundaries crossed, thank you Mr. Obama. Wow. President Obama. I still just about need to pinch myself. I was just so, so worried it wouldn't turn out this way.

I want to go to a movie this weekend. Has anybody seen one worth watching?
