So. I've got a short week coming up. I'd considered taking a personal day tomorrow, a mental health day, but I am certain I'll need it more later so I'm toughing it out. My kids are working on a book that will be published, plus they need to read quite a bit more to reach the reading goal for the month (celebration on Wednesday afternoon), so I really need to be in school. It feels good to know that they'll get stuff done (if they will at all) if I'm there. The past three years have been worth something, at least.
Because it's a short week, I'm not taking my Sunday afternoon seriously at all. I usually have a vague panicky feeling about this time, but not today. Instead I'm enjoying a glass of wine. Thursday morning Adam and I will drive down to Apple Valley, to spend Thanksgiving with my extended family (Dad's side), and I can't wait. It makes these three school days more than bearable. We'll stay the night with my brother and his girlfriend, Sara, in St. Paul (I think), and then visit my grandma in Foley Fri. before heading back here. It will be good, as long as there's not a blizzard. I don't like blizzards, when I'm driving.
Over the weekend, Adam put up blinds in the office (there'd been a blanket hanging) and in the kitchen (there'd been those white vinyl blinds; I'm not a fan), so he's been pretty productive. He even did the Demon Exercise Video today. I can't really say that I've been impressively productive, though I did clean my desk, and I do plan on clearing the living room table and doing the dishes. We'll see.
I'll leave you with a joke that Adam told me the other day, one that I actually remember days later:
A polar bear walks into a bar.
Bartender: Hey! What'll you have?
Polar Bear: I'll have a beer and .................................................................................................. some peanuts.
Bartender: No problem. But why the long pause?
Polar Bear: (holding up his "arms"): Oh.....I've always had these.
Happy Sunday. :)
