Blog Update

It's been awhile, and my Erbert's and Gerbert's post was not substantial info about what I've been up to. Well, it kind of is, considering I suddenly don't believe anymore in cooking, apparently.

Anyway, the beginning of a new week is nearly here. I'm enjoying my job, for the most part, but I still need to learn how to balance and de-stress. The last couple of weekends have been good - full of seeing friends, which is always nice. Thank you Jen, Melissa, Khel and Jonathan for your visits!! "My cup runneth over." That's in a movie, during a "main character is feeling very grateful" scene, but I can't remember which right now.

Speaking of movies, I rented Sex and the City for myself, a lazy Sunday afternoon treat. I wasn't a loyal fan of the HBO show, but I watched it once in awhile and liked it well enough. Adam was glad I got it, I think, because he won't be tempted to quit the work he's doing and start watching...!

What else can I report? The sunflowers I transplanted in the vegetable garden have all bloomed -- happy surprise! Monty is on the carpet right now eating a ribeye bone or something that has gross, moist stuff crammed into the middle. Gross. Adam is playing Halo before starting school work, I am considering doing laundry, I got a haircut yesterday (with bangs - nice change), I fired up the furnace yesterday and -gasp! - it works, leaves are falling everywhere and I'm not raking them up (another thing I don't believe in because I think they're beautiful and they are good for the yard), I made a rock trail yesterday and filled holes in the yard with big rocks instead of dirt (for now...), MEA is coming up and I am excited for a couple of extra days off, Adam and I put an Al Franken for U.S. Senate yard sign up and are waiting for signs for our mayoral pick and Obama/Biden, and....Monty likes scotch, it turns out. (neither Adam nor I do, so it was dumped in the grass, but Monty lapped some up and then sneezed for like two minutes, and then went back a few times for more). And - I bought two candles yesterday, one of them a pumpkin spice smell, another a discontinued scent that was fifty percent off of a big container. I love when that happens. It's a nice scent, too - I wonder why no one was buying it.
Okay. I'd better get busy watching my movie.

I hope you're all having a nice, cozy fall afternoon!

It's wonderful to hear from you Laura. It sounds like life is busy and yet you have moments for contemplation. I think Monty likes most things if he ate that bone and drank Scotch, my goodness!

Haven't seen the movie yet, heard that the unedited version is too long and not as good as it was in the theatre.
