I found this on Berne's blog and I really like it:
"I know it sounds corny, but at the end of each day, I ask myself, 'What have I done for students today?' And if I can't answer that question, then I have to put students first the next day." -Jared Paul Stene 1985-2007
I know this talks about teaching, but I think it applies to any helping profession. Our careers can get so overwhelming and stressful, but it's good to be reminded to remember why we went into the career in the first place. What did we dream of when we were just kids who didn't completely understand what the job would entail?! The dream should still be there. I think mine has been fading lately, but when I read this quote, I felt it come closer to the forefront of my mind. Thank you, Berne!

Well I do have to wonder about a couple of the teachers you and my kids had at good old CHS......Why were they even there? The really hardworking ones stand out by contrast.
