Paint and Chocolate

The weekend's been great. Yesterday was mostly a lazy day, except for a burst of energy when Adam mowed the lawn and I did the dishes, but today has been pretty eventful. Jonathan and Natasha stopped over to drop off books (and chocolates!), and it was good to visit with them. Then a co-worker of Adam's stopped by before taking Adam away to golf, and then Adam's mom surprised us with a visit. Also, I finally got around to painting something to replace a picture (in this same spot) that I hated. It is a nice picture, but it just isn't my style. I knew I wanted COLOR, and I was envisioning a yellow/gold. I don't have much talent for mixing paint, though, so pretty soon I had some orangey-brown color, and then a BLUE, and then this green that I actually love. I tried a stencil for the pitcher, and although I had more planned (well, Adam might still add a shadow) I was afraid to mess up a good, simplistic thing. I also found a lamp to put in the corner of the table, and now----it feels right. It just hadn't before.

Happy sleep, everyone, and good luck with Monday :)
