Today has been a relaxing day so far. Adam and I stayed up late last night getting our downstairs clean and sorted, and now we feel a bit more ready for the school year. I've spent this morning finding recipes for the dinner I'm making---venison, corn on the cob and baby red potatoes. I found a great marinade for the venison, and already it smells so good...It's not even cooking yet!

Monty is home with us now, our sweet little convalescent dog. (I love that word and rarely have a chance to use it :) I posted earlier about this and since deleted the post, but Monty was very sick last week and spent four days in the vet. hopsital. He had "Hemorrhagic Gastroenteritis", a condition that left him dehydrated and caused his red blood cell count to become very high. It was scary because for awhile he wasn't improving. We got him back Friday, though, so he'll get to be home for his fourth birthday (tomorrow). My mom got him a present, and we always get him a cheeseburger for his birthday. I think we'll celebrate today since tomorrow will be a little crazy. Spoiled little dog.

(By the way: A good movie to see if you like thrillers is Fracture with Ryan Gosling and Anthony Hopkins.
You might find yourself wondering, as I was, how Hollywood will find a new quintessential bad guy after Anthony Hopkins is no longer with us. Has there ever been a better one?!
)

I'm missing my family today since it's always been our tradition to have a picnic or something over the Labor Day weekend. My brother just moved, though, I'm preparing for school and my dad is god knows exactly where in the Wyoming mountains (hunting elk). So, hopefully we'll get together later in the month.

I hope all of you are having a good day!
