He's eight hundred years old, yet people are still reading his words. There's been a resurgence, in fact, since a few very good translators have gotten hold of his poems. Rumi writes about living a pure life, and about love - always about love - and about being kind and good to everyone around you.

"Love is not condescension, never
that, nor books, nor any marking
on paper, nor what people say of
each other. Love is a tree with
branches reaching into eternity
and roots set deep in eternity..."
