Even though it's at least 90 degrees here, I decided to cook since I'm sick of eating out (as I did all last week---). I picked up one of my Rachael Ray books, and I can't believe I have basically ignored them for over a year. The recipes really do only take thirty minutes! I watched her show last week while I was working out (yeah, a cooking show while working out...), and I was pretty impressed. Somehow I'd been annoyed by her without ever having watched her show, I guess because she has been such a fad lately.
So, tonight I made pepperoni portobello mushroom pizzas. I have been obsessed with mushrooms for the past year or so, trying to get mushroom soup whenever it's made at local restaurants and trying to make it myself (and being disappointed :(. These little pizzas, though---they are incredible! Really easy, too, which means they will probably become a major player in my small set of Things to Make for Dinner.
Adam and I rented Zodiac, so I think we'll watch that soon. Tomorrow marks another beginning of living room work, Phase 3 out of six or so phases, I guess. All I know is that I'm ready to just have a living room.

I'm a huge Rachael Ray fan, and I'm able to manage that almost without shame. In fact, one of her books is my most recent staff recommendation at the bookstore. Because I know her recipes make some of the most delicious food I've ever eaten. And they're easy. Also, she pretty much taught me how to cook, so I owe her some respect for that.
I, too, enjoy Rachael Ray. When we were first home with Evan, I watched her show every day. Josh even watched with me and I caught him enjoying bits and pieces of it in spite of himself! Your pizza sounds yummy!
PS--I think I know Amber from my second year at Morris... small world!
Are you going to share your recipe? This sounds nummy!
I read "Zodiac" a few months ago and the book scared the beejeezus out of me. I want to see the movie, but I'm afraid it won't be as good as the book. Let me know how you like it!
