I hope all of you have something nice planned for this weekend. Adam and I are going to visit family and friends in the Cities-----I'm excited. After a long week, the thought of driving (especially in that traffic, my God) isn't thrilling, but it will be worth it. I just talked to my grandma, who is in the nursing home in Foley. I want to see her, but I don't want to see her there. So..... I don't know what else to say about that. I am glad I get to see her. I talked to my grandpa and my other grandma, too------It was good to re-connect. A friend of mine had her grandfather die this week.....I realize how lucky I am to have three grandparents still living. It makes me happy that I was able to talk to them all tonight.
It was a long day of curriculum planning today. Actually, all we did was write the district's Language Arts Philosophy Statement, but it took five hours. A paragrah in five hours. So many strong personalities all on one team, all wanting their way. I speak up when I have something I want to say, which I haven't always been able to do, but really....sometimes it just doesn't matter. Enough's enough. Four people argued back and forth for twenty minutes about whether to use "voice" or "voices". But.....I guess it wasn't such a big deal. We are language arts teachers, after all. It would look pretty bad if the subjects and verbs in our philospohy statement didn't agree...:)
Time to relax a little bit. Goodnight!
