Over the past week I got Christmas pictures from both my family and Adam's, so I wanted to share a couple. My mom, dad and brother are with us in the top picture, and Adam's mom, brother and sister are in the bottom.
It is nice to have a Saturday again. The temp. is -18 without the windchill, the kind of cold that makes it hurt to breathe. Monty didn't even want to walk, which is unheard of. He dug his poor little paws into the ground (while holding a front one up) and kept looking wistfully back at our house. So....now he's all curled up and thankfully content at the moment.
I played Johnny Cash for my kids yesterday, and we had a lot of fun. We're working on main ideas and details, and I had a reading about J. Cash, so the songs (like "Get Ryhthm" and "A Boy Named Sue") made for a good pre-reading strategy. Got them more interested, anyway. The fact that Shel Silverstein wrote "A Boy Named Sue" made them pay attention, too----who doesn't like Shel Silverstein?
I'm waiting for the water to heat up so I can bathe. I was all ready for a bath - had a candle, a book, some incense - and then the water was barely lukewarm. The pilot light goes out quite a bit, and I'm not sure why. There's no better day to still be in pajamas and kind of scruffy, though, than a Saturday!

I can just see Monty turning around looking wistfully at the house, I would too, that's cold!
I got criticized in my poetry writing class for looking towards song writers (Tori Amos at the time) as inspiration for my writing, that lyrics weren't poetry, can you imagine?
Glad you're warm!
brrrr! it's cold here too. a warm bath, candles, and incense sounds nice on a cold day like today (except our bathroom is too cold!).
