
Check-In (for My Project)
1. I missed two days of Morning Pages this week. Why? ---- Anything I write down will just be an excuse, and excuses are the reason I am almost two years from my last Master's class and still working on my thesis. I will try harder for Week Two. 2. My Artist Date is scheduled for today. We have a big, beautiful snowstorm here, so the plans might be changed a bit, but I'm still going.
3. My weekly walk---- Yes, although not a "goodly" one. I may walk downtown today as part of my Date, so then I'd have a nice, long one.
4. Other issues that felt significant to me in my self-discovery..... Yes. Although I haven't visited every Finding Water member's blog yet, what has struck me most so far are the lists of "coulds" I've found. Jessie, I think you started this----Thank you. I will end with a list of my own.
Possibilities
- I could spend half an hour every day working on my thesis.
- I could eat more fresh foods and move away from processed stuff.
- I could walk every day.
- I could wake up earlier and read the news in the mornings.
- I could write one "real" letter a week.
- I could work harder to push all angry and bitter thoughts out of my mind.
- I could take dance lessons. (My "deferred dream" is to dance on Broadway!)
- I could work on photography again.
- I could submit some of my poetry, and I could submit articles to various magazines.
- I could spend a half an hour every day reading professional journals/books so I can become a better teacher.
- I could budget Adam's and my money but then not throw a fit if we choose to spend money we haven't allowed for.
- I could truly appreciate the home I am living in now.
- I could try counting to ten (cliche, but hey) and focusing on my breathing the next time I feel "spazzy" (as my students say).
- I could apologize less when it doesn't really matter and more when it does.
- I could more often be genuinely happy and not at all bitter for another's good fortune.

My ancient dream was to sing on broadway! I hope you are able to turn some of the "coulds" into "done its" soon. Very cool idea. I hope you do more photography too, I love seeing your images. I would especially love to see more of where you walk and live!

i really, REALLY like the first thing on your list and the second to the last one on your list. i enjoyed making my own list too--although, i must admit that it was a little scary because i felt like if i wrote it down that it actually might happen!
