My mother-in-law gave me these Self-Empowerment Cards a couple of years ago. There are 52 of them, all bright colors and unique artistic touches. The deck comes with a booklet that has thoughts for each card and journal prompts. The one shown here (for some reason the color didn't transfer) is the one I currently have propped up next to my computer.
***I just returned from Walmart (one of these days I'll follow through with my resolve to never shop there again) and purchased, among other things, a Mum for my bathroom and a hanging plant for the kitchen. Buying plants and then walking around and looking at them in my house makes me happy. But now it is time to stop walking around and start the laundry, and picking up the clothes from my round blue couch in the bedroom, and working on my classes for the week. Don't ask me why, but my school district did not give us MLK Day off, so I plan to educate my students on the man. It's too bad I'm technologically challenged, because it would be wonderful to show them excerpts from his speech. Last year I was able to crowd them around my desk computer, but this year there are too many students.
