Brushing Up On My Mobspeak

Adam and I had went out with friends last night to an Irish pub to drink and play our new board game. We are all evenly matched Sopranos experts, so it was a very fun, very competetive evening. The four of us also started planning a trip to Europe for this summer, which I really hope actually happens because I can't wait to go back. I can't wait to share the experience with my husband, with our friends. I went the summer after I graduated from high school to England, France and Spain. The trip was incredible, but it will be nice to go without chaperones, without having to wear matching, gigantic tour group backpacks and stick to such a stringent schedule. Biarritz, France was my favorite place, a beautiful coastal city that smells of salt water and has the most gorgeous sunsets. I fell in love with it instantly because it was the first time I'd seen or smelled an ocean since I'd been to Florida as a little girl. Scent is so directly tied to memory for me. I can be in a bathroom someplace new and be stopped in my tracks by the smell of the soap, and I'll just stand frozen until I can recall the memory that is activated--- It's the same when I'm around a certain kind of plastic; I think every time of the yellow Yogi Bear tent I had as a kid, of crawling in and out with my little brother and some ugly cloth doll we had at the time and fought over incessantly. --- I love that humans have the capacity to call back pieces of our lives like this.

I must go now and shower before a breakfast with Adam and one of our friends. If I don't get gabagool I will go oobatz. :) Happy Sunday.
