Happy Wednesday

"A gatha is a short verse that you can recite during the day to help you attend to the present moment." Over the break, I got a book called 201 Little Buddhist Reminders, and they are full of gathas. Here is one:

Preparing Coffee or Tea

I train myself to drink my coffee or tea mindfully. Doing only this, preparing and then drinking my coffee or tea, I live in the present moment.

I like that. Right now I am sitting in one of my favorite coffee shops, mindfully drinking a wonderfully warm latte. There's something about being here, concentrating on how good this mug of deliciousness tastes, that helps me get into writing mind.

Happy day to you, Laura!
